All in all, despite the two non-rugby related casualties on the last Saturday, the tour was a success. The rugby was great; many good training session, playing four hard physical matches, winning one game, earning the respect of our opposition, being able to watch the All Blacks 7's train and seeing at Super 15 match live......all in a rugby mad nation like New Zealand. The experiences were also fantastic; seeing life in urban and rural New Zealand; participating in a number of different activities, getting to live with another family for a few days and bonding with teammates.
A lifetime of great memories for these boys.
For me, I'm going to remember how well our Lord Byng boys represented their families, school and country. Each time we left one of our hosts, the comments that the coaches heard from the host families were always positive and that, "it would be a pleasure to have them back."
Hopefully, one day in the near future, the boys will be able to reconnect with their billets, either in Vancouver, or back in New Zealand.
